Get a bucket of sand, it's free/very cheap.
If something catches fire, throw the sand on it and if that doesn't put it out then you use the (expensive) fire extinguisher

When I worked in a garage we got bollocked for using the fire extinguisher when welding caught fire and were told to use a watering can (1980's). I'd go to the supermercado and buy a couple of those £10 extinguishers. I keep several all over the place. I liked Herman's blaze, but he I like fire.. but lighting it the amateur way... all you need is a couple of zip firelighters wrapped in newspaper! E is for enthusiasm which I89 has in spades!
