S.V.O duty......thats right daffodil, actually 27.1p, you send monthly declarations to customs & excise telling 'em how much veg you've used the
previous month, you'll have to register with 'em first so they can set up a payment account, not sure but you may be able to get the form online, otherwise phone and say what you need, i think it's a form 103, but they'll know.
Biodiesel...... as i siad in an earlier post bio is refined to be thinner, it's the addative (methanol or similar) that can cause seal problems,not the actual veg oil.
the methanol only has a bad reaction with natural rubber,
so in my eyes as i don't have a clue what motor uses synthetic or natural rubber seals/pipes it's safer stick to straight veg.
S.V.O. (straight veg oil) just to clear this up when, people say they run on straight veg oil it doesn't mean 100% veg oil ie....... no diesel added.
it's the term used to differentiate between between bio diesel and veg oil
there are plenty of people running on veg oil and most use between 50% -75% veg mixed with diesel, with no need for conversions/adjustments.
some folks also use 2 tanks, one veg, one diesel and use the 100% veg tank to run and the diesel tank on start up (engine can hunt in first few minutes when started on veg from cold)
smoke n smell............. does smoke a little on start up (white not black)
but ok when running
