they would go to a specifig testing station run by VOSA

That makes sense, or at least it will if you have a reactor and live near a test station. You are a bit stuffed of you live in the Highlands and have to go to Glasgow in a tractor!

you do know fred we are very up to date up here we even have electric !!

if tractors were to be MOTd the Tractor garages would just get MOT certified mechanics they would be readily available as they are for other vehicles. And if a tractor had to be moved to Glasgow we would just gather several together and bung on a low loader !!!

 Yes I know you have electricity. What I mean is, as HGV stations are not as common as regular MOT stations, I bet you tractor test stations would be even more scarce!

Sounds like yet another way for the ministry to stick it to people who are trying to make a living.

I know you do, but how far do you have to travel to one (an HGV test centre)?

MOT's for tractors would never work, yeh like some crofter is going to drive his 30yr old massey ferguson 30mile each way to a testing station when it normally only goes a few hundred yards on the road between fields

We have nothing else. :( All our MOT testing is done in ministry test stations, not garages.

It is about time that ALL vehicles that use the public highway should be MOT tested - have you had a look at the state of some of the tractors on the roads; if they were cars they would have been made into an Olympic stadium by now
