i have wig wag lights on the front of mine (used during escorting) and have gone past plenty of police and have never been pulled yet.
i also have red flashers on the back but only use those if i need to stop during escorting.

That reminds me, on a single carriageway section of the A9 the other day I saw some wig wag headlights coming in the opposite direction. Thought it must be the rozzers on an emergency shout, but no, they're escorting an ab load doing 40mph!
Is it really nesecarry for them to dazzle everyone else (it was early morning). It was only a feckin portacabin, so not sure why they were even escorting it?!

On a related note, spotted this on the m6 - http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s128 ... 02855x.jpg

must have been a bit of a prat in the escort van i only use flashing ambers after dark they are more than enough.if you miss me with two rows of beacons and grill mounted flashers something has gone wrong but a lot more people do get out of the way with flashing headlamps on.

Highways Agency TO's can use rear red strobes on live lane closures and hard shoulder incidents likely to have certain safety issues, but all use should be recorded :?

Sorry didn't make it clear enough, it was the rozzers themselves escorting it! :?

i use red flashers on the back of mine i only use them if i have to stop during an escort if something goes wrong. I have never been pulled for these either. i would argue that my safety was priority and i will do what i can to make myself more visible.
The old bill in scotland are a pain for escorting if you have your arm too far out of the window you need an escort.
