my mk6 2 litre just returned infinte fuel economy... sadly I don't want to know what the Ford Explorer towing it was doing!

It used to do around 35mpg with a roofrack on, but a LOT less if you really put your foot down

Mk6 54 plate mwb medium roof.
Drove 170miles from Manchester to Oswestry and back. Mainly motorways at 65-70 but last 15 miles on welsh hills.
Did about 35mpg.
Was with two lads, two big mountain bikes and tools pads etc. so 100kg in the back

Just on my way back from Morocco in my 2000 mk5 petrol/lpg hi cube thought I would do a petrol mpg test before I loaded up, 149.5 miles from 23.05 litres
29.5mpg !!!!!!!!!!! And that was mostly short trips round town , but loaded up now and expecting quite a bit less on the way back as 1500kgs takes its toll .
I have got to say very impressed with the MPG on these petrol vans especially as this is a small house on wheels better than a lot of the diesels anyway and a double whammy with the LPG. I have got a 175 litre gas tank so should only have to fuel up twice on the way back from Morocco, will come back with the fully loaded figures then ( last year was 4.8 Miles per Litre)

'53 mk6 125 280 2ltr fwd swb med roof

Last trip of approx 190 miles. Half motorway 75-85, half A roads 30-50. Tyres at 40 psi. Light load.
Working off gauge, which has always been quite accurate, I averaged nearly 42mpg.
