had a measure up today and it seems a pinto including the thermastat housing at the front is about 24inches long front to back, where the bellhousing bolts to, the 24v engine is basiclly the same, but the zetec and CVH are around 21-22 inches, so would the zetec be a good engine to fit behind the grill on a flat front mk1, how long is a crossflow, its the thermastat housing on the pinto that makes them so long, without that they are only about 21 inches.

:? i think it would be a goodish engine to fit but its touqe you need this is why they are low compresion to give you the grunt! :? i have never seen one done so would be intresting and you can be the first lol :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:

g thanks, well i think i was the first to fit a 24v in a transit so i may as well be the first to zetec, then i'll have to see about fitting the ford lightning engine when i got the funds.

i have thourt and thourt but there just isnt much you can get behind that grill , :? the essex is ok for what i use it for at the moement! :?

the 2.0 zetec is 136 bhp and about the same torque, thats a lot more than an old pinto i used to have even with a 3.0 dgas carb and 4 branch so it should pull well i would have said.

i keep trying to get at my transit to get the old 2.9 out and get the 24v in, but i never seem to have the time or the weather on my side.
