I will be cutting  mine out and blackwireing it elsewhere under the dash into another type of connector and then make up a loose lead (which i will keep in the house ) with the counterpart connector to an obd socket. Unfortunately all you can do is slow then down to the point where they give up and try someone elses van. I reckon with the tibbe key and that tool you could be in and away in under three minutes...

mmm from 1 pound 64 pence each and 1 or 2 to choose from :?

Ch4 news just featured this unit being used to steal bmw's with cctv footage showing it being used. Apparently the govt are aware of it and bmw are working on a solution to protect their cars, and are offering compensation to anyone whos bm is stolen in this way!

Would it work cutting a single cable to the obd and wiring it to a toggle switch under the bonnet (or somewhere hidden) Im sure they will not bother looking for a switch if the programming doesnt work first time.
Just a thought as this foxed the tits who tried to nick my Astra van about 15 years ago, toggle on the suppy to the ignition, wouldnt mind but they took the sunglasses from the box that the switch was in!
Sometimes the obvious is too easy!

I'm sure it would, but we need to know which single wire is the vital one, or if cutting any of them will foil the connection :?
