All this fuss about tickets If one turns up on your doormat, complete it using the name & address of somebody that lives overseas!

A couple of things you need to remember here.

Firstly, the plod may come knocking to ask you a few questions. You have the right to remain silent & should exercise that right (more than 99.99% of convictions are based upon a confession).

Secondly, unless he has a warrant (which he won't) then the minute he steps foot on your driveway he is tresspassing on private property. Blatantly recording the conversation on your mobile phone is very important at this stage. You ask him once to leave, if he doesn't he has committed a criminal offence & you can claim damages from the chief constable. He will at this stage be painfully aware of the damage you can cause to his career.

When advised of the law & told for a 2nd and final time to leave he will brick it & walk away.

English law is very clear, it is up to the prosecution to prove guilt, NOT the defence to prove innocence!

They may ask for proof that the alleged driver of the vehicle was actually in the country but its up to them to prove it, NOT YOU! Then the joker card, we have a photograph of the driver and it looks like you!!! Of course he looks like me officer, we're f****** related (but you have the right to remain silent so don't state how closely you are related).

While he's messing around with a bee in his bonnet trying to nail you, he'll suddenly realise that he still has a quota of 4 detentions per month to achieve & whether he likes it or not, he has to move on to somebody who's going to pay his fine without fuss.

One mate of mine has lost count of how many tickets he has sent to ficticious guests in Turkish hotels The most he's ever had is "we've written to the named driver but they haven't replied" well officer, thats your problem................ not mine

first of all the police will pay ALOT more attention to a ticket with a refered to foregn driver,and if found out your going to do porrige.

Most coppers don't know or don't enforce the rule, just carry on doing the speed you have been doing. Like I say it's nothing new, if you get stopped just say I didn't know officer.

if you choose not to read up the legal implications of your actions before comiting them it's your fault!
you can borrow a highway code from a library for gods sake it aint hard and dont cost money!!!
