Do we have a definative well informed YES on neat Rape Seed Oil or Veg Oil ??

And what do we mix it with and what ratio to make a yes ??

And will it be OK with a more modern common rail diesel like my fiat idea ??

i wouldn't recommend anything i aint tried/seen

personally i wouldn't try it on the common rail diesel for that reason.
My common rail hdi doesn't like it, i've been told i need another pump in the tank to use svo, so thats a no no for me.

although i've seen 100% svo being used 50% to 70% SVO to diesel is common.

If you don't fancy tackling the duty issue it can also be bought pre mixed and duty paid.

cool will give it a go in my td soon then roughly how much is veg oil a litre oh and will it be obvious goin to tescos and only buying5/10 litres of veg oil or stick it with some other shopping

if you're running on svo, you need to have the duty form ready for the tax otherwise the consequeses(dunno if thats spelt right) are the same as running on red or kero

edit......... it's around 38-40p a litre if bought in smaller bottles (and the duty is 27.1p a litre on what you declare)

Veg oil is around 43p for 1L. Its a bit risky in a td as the lucas pumps
are tempermental and arn't cheap when they go wrong. Ive done it twice
but its a bit dodgy when you pull up at traffic lights and theres a wiff a chip pan lingering

I have enquired about this and was told that the German fuel pumps (Bosch) run wonderful on veg oil but the Lucas pumps can be a real pig anyone know if this is true as I have a Lucas fitted and really want to try veg oil.

yep bosh pump is the one you need there is a foumd about it all i will post the link up when i get home the guys are very help full.

really you want to heat the oil up and have a 2nd tank for it so you can switch between the 2 when starting up and turning off

I personally despite the monetary saving on the fuel i use (only about £50/wk) will give it a miss.

There are 2 putting off factors.. 1st is the potential damage it may do and the potential remedy/cleaning work that may be required b oth related to the untried factor in my circles.

2nd is the smell. Chip fat isn't a nice smell and i don't wanna be attracting attention to myself in built up areas especially considering i'll be declaring very, very little to mr. tax man.

u see at the 1st question on this well thats the van we on about the blue one and it seems but the cocking oil is a bit of a b*****D so we useing diesel for a bit to see if it stops as we think its diesel nocks
put diesel in to day so see
