well it seems odd that ford are having to drag one up from bristol (filter)

are 125's so rare?

everyone i looked at was a 125

And thats why we fit the right filter first time

well some Ford fitter didnt check then, and asked for a "transit" filter at parts, not "a filter for a transit 125 tdci"

or are ford mechanics so much better than most? (think before you speak)

What do I have to think about
Obviously I cant speak for the person who fitted your filter, there is going to be excellent mechanics in ford dealers as well as not so good ones and that applies to vauxhall, merc, renault and non franchised dealers/one man bands etc

As Frag says, parts give the filter according to what microcat/e-cat says, but the mechanic should have checked the filter before fitting, so this isnt so much Ford's fault is it???? Or if something goes wrong with the van/service/parts/dealer do we automatically blame Henry himself as he started it all

part of the problem i find is that dealers deal with (mainly) joe public...

when i was in parts, in a stores and mobile with a parts van, servicing imprest stocks at haulage and rental fleets, like TNT, Ind Coope, Tesco, etc, if i fckd up i was in deep doodoo, my job was deffo on the line, supply Bass with asbestos brake shoes instead on non-asbestos, of fail to order a part needed for a trunker which then missed the irish ferry with overnight parcels on, and the customer (a transport manager) would happily chew your balls off, maybe even throw out my firm in favour of another, my tourneo and the trade/custom it is worth to my local ford just doesnt matter to them.

and they (parts) cant be on commission like i was either...


i once saw my manager have a suppliers rep DANCE on a table to apologise for fecking up an order, then tell him, and his firm, to pish off and never come back

Often the tickover slows and it sounds like it will stall then it inexplicably picks-up again, in a fairly regular cycle .. the reduced tickover speed is frequently accompanied by severe vibration. Fuel starvation isn't usually associated with hunting.

just bought the correct filter for my tdci today, the guy who served me said h'mmm thats strange we've never sold one of those before but have 17 instock.

and it was only £20.18 inc, jennings.

because he has been handing over the TTDi wersion to TDci owners, those vehicles are running, but if they have a problem Ford can sidestep any warranty
