ive never registered a vehicle in my name for over 4 years lol, every one of them gets bought via the trade slip on logbook so they send it off as sold to trade, the company on the slip however is well never even there lol

the person you buy off is fine as its out of there name


the system screws you so screw the system back

it still goes on your name at DVLA just not on the log book so be careful you're not hidden unless you use a false trading name ( )

WHY oh WHY do people complane about the speed camera's ??, when it is the driver that put them there. you are a driver, i am a driver, i have a speedo that i can read and a pair of eyes to read it. i paid for my driving leasons and was tought to a high standerd. i traind to be a driving instructor, i passed my part 2 driving test, that is a lot tougher then the I.A.M test, so i know how to drive. a full driving licence takes a long time to get, and can be taken away in an instant, i know the speed limets, 20-30-40-50-60-70. i stick to these. if everybody did the same as me, we would not need the camera's. you put them there, you take them away.

Agree with the complaining bit.....if yer caught, take the rap, you knew what you were doing. BUT where's the fun in sticking to the rules? . imo it'd be a boring old world if we all stuck to the rules. Sometimes you get the bear, sometimes the bear gets you.....all good fun

there is a speed which suits the road and conditions, and quite oftern the set speed limit is not it, i dont have a problem with people speeding - i do have a problem with people going excessively fast - most of the time people speeding arnt going dangerously, but people automatically assume that is you are speeding you are driving dangerously
i was driving my camper recently past gainsbrough way - there was a country road camera'd up 40mph limit i was "sunday" driving yet still had to keep slowing down and even dropping into 4th the limit was set deliberatly low to catch people the road did not need such a low limit

Well said. If we all stuck to those limits and didn't get fined, it'd also take a really long time to get anywhere. I find it hard to believe anyone can defend the law's actions really!

As I said before, I am so fed up with being done for 79 on the M6. I do know it is above the limit, but it was on a summers morning, and I was in lane 1 with no traffic in sight. This morning on the M56 crowded, raining, no visibility etc, BMWs Vectras etc no lights on even, zooming past 6 foot from each other at 90+. Where are the coppers then ?

As for the firm proving it was me, I was notified 2 months after the alleged offence, long after my weekly mileage returns have been accepted, showing that vehicle going to Carlisle with my signature on it.
Oh well, slap the cuffs on, It's a fair cop guv make no mistake.

Makes it worse that you can't even get into 6th gear in the Astra until it's doing more than 70 as it is nearly 40mph per 1000rpm in top. I just drive it in 5th now on the motorway to make sure my speed doesn't creep up.

Yes it is a diesel, in fact no other than the 1.3 cdti. it has 1248cc of pure power under the bonnet. Supposedly 89 bhp, but in the much smaller and lighter Fiat Panda where the engine is derived from, it is listed as 70bhp. It is gutless in an estate car full to the roof of tools, cable, ladders on etc. Why Vauxhall fit this joke of an engine I have no idea.

In my opinion, the gearing is too high, for such low power. It is the final drive that is tall as well as the individual gears being weird, 1st is too short 2nd too long, etc etc

The turbo wont boost till 2500 rpm, and that means 3rd gear up to at least 40 mph What is the point of tall gearing for economy, if you end up leaving it in lower gears for driveability ?

I always moan about low gearing in my old Smiley, but at least you could drive it easily.

Easy for the lucky few who haven't been caught (yet!!!) to say don't do it.

It IS a sledgehammer to crush a peanut moneyspinner, it deserves all the scandal it gets and more.
The points system is very unfair. End of.

Braking kneejerk reactions to spotting speed cameras (car speeding or not) are hazardous in themselves.

The only plus side of cameras to getting pulled over by a jam-sandwich for a 'wheres the fire sir' ticking off like in the good old days is that cameras can't breathalyse.
Not that I do/condone drink driving of course. That's sarcasm to highlight the ratio of drunk driving casualties to the number of speeding driver casualties and the comparitive efforts to combat both.
The thinking is clearly this ~

heres my thoughts on the issue,
didnt have a problem with the fixed cameras you learnt where they were and drove accordingly.
the good thing about this is that when you were in unfamiliar territory or " someone elses town"you had to be carefull which was a genuine safety aspect.
then along came the mobile jobs and f*** it all up.
some of the positions they operate from do have a genuine safety motive but the sly hidden ones on dual carriageways ect are no more than parasites. whenever i see them it always brings up an image of the ticks i have to remove from my dog after walking it in the forest.
as for the motorway stuff well that just sucks.
so as always the the human nature of greed has messed up what was originaly a good idea.
i personaly enjoy driving and have still got a clean licence after 20 years and yes i haved maxxed every vehicle ive ever owned(except the 265bhp scooby cause it got a bit hectic over 140) .
the whole camera buisness has taken the enjoyment out of driving ,and thats something i resent .
