It's not my fault, don't write in!!

Tomorrow we are doing a feature film shoot, our biggest luton is going to be in 2 flashback scenes set in the 80s. When the researcher originally called us, she said it was set in 1985, perfect I thought. On Friday I spoke to her collegue, nearer to the director, and she corrected the date to 1980. Now all of you out there know that we only have Mk2 phase2s, which came out in 1984. I had a big professional dillemma about this, and eventually I fessed up to the Directors Assistant, putting her in the picture. I left it up to her, and she said that was OK, 1980, 1985 same thing!!!! So when it comes out, don't write in and complain, least of all to me, I did tell them that the van is 4 years too late!!!

Never mind the inside shot, the whole VAN is wrong for 1980! Just as long as nobody else in the business cottons on and thinks it's our fault, that's what's bothering me.

As I said, I told them the Mk2 phase2 didn't come out until 1984, and left it open to turn us down. They didn't, and went on to make the booking formally in writing. This happens a lot. It's called artistic licence. After all, I can't remember when I last saw a Mk2 phase1 luton, and I have looked, let alone the the Production company.
