How much does it cost these days to have the bores skimmed on a 2.5 Di complete with oversized rings anyone know :?:

Once I have finished all the body work I want to buy another 2.5 Di to rebuild all new parts and have the bores skimmed so if anyone could give me at least a rough idea on how much it would cost and also want to put a turbo on her so any advice on that would be greatful :D

if you skim the bores you'll need oversized pistons :!:

I doubt you'll need to get the bores skimmed anyway.

So just go for all new bearings, etc. this 2.5Di I have in now has done 203000 +/- would I get away with say having her deglazed if it needs it new rings and all new shells :?: what about popping a turbo on it, would it be asking too much from an old lump :?: :lol:

If the engine has been well serived then it probably wont need anything.

No Ive got no previous service records. It sounds tired and hills are not bad, I thought after an overhaul and a turbo could give her a new lease of life

personally i wouldnt re-con a Di theres plenty of rusty vans with good engines mine had 120K on and was only £80 (full van) and the engine is a cracker :lol:

what about putting a turbo on it :?: Im not one for speeding but id like to get up the hills a bit better and also would like to have the oomf there if I need it :lol: but would I be asking to much from an older lump :?:
