hi, read a few post on here of people buying vans to do a courier service, often ending with them trying to sell the van though.

just a question, how do you go about getting these 'runs' as i have seen them named.

wouldnt mind a weekend job couriering in my van for a wee bit extra dough. never heard of anyone in my area talking of it, its all just parcelforce or citylink, big firms like that.

there are delivery jobs advertised round my way all the time, most people use there cars in the evenings to delivery catalouge parcels... Be carfeull tho with your insurance and whats covered.

advertise in local papers. van and driver avilable for hire.

I read about a bloke that advertised in his local paper "Van and man for hire". He got a call from somebody that wanted him to go to his house and film him and his wife in the bedroom

I did the thompsons local directory once. delivered 1800 in a week and must be honest it was well worth it, i did it in the evenings around my full time job. the only pain was having all them books in the house.

Yep done the Thompson books before, got paid well for it and yes the dam things took over the house so was a good insentive to get them deliverd as quickly as poss

the only thing is when we done them before its all just farms and silly ve hamlets and villages here so you spent more time on unclassed very rough roads, probably doing more damage than good to the car, wonder if the mk6 will be any better
