Haven't heard me complaining with bad starting in all the cold weather have you? Sure they don't give loads of juice but at a tenner rather than the regular price well worth it.
Fred posted these the last time they were on offer.

had one in my recovery truck - still had to jump start it when it was unused a while - so waste of money and it was parked in bright sunlight

I've been tempted, maybe 2 or 3 together.

Motorwise says no, I say yes...and by extenstion Fred says yes also but it is your money to spend how you want to. If it does nothing what's a tenner buy today, a round of drinks?, 40 fags?, lunch at maccy D's for 2 people?

I put two in the front windscreen and they work fine, no problems all winter even when van not used for a while.

I was lucky when they did mine they only took the radio which didn't work anyway but the new window was £80, mind you they came back and pinched the spot lights two weeks later.

Haven't heard me complaining of poor starting in the cold weather either. Except ours hasnt got one of these solar panels.

I bought 2 from maplins they were a10 er reduced from 20 , i have them in my boat, keeping the battery that runs me auto bilge pump. I dont think they are made to charge as such, , well obviously they do, i think a new battery loses about 1 5 of its charge a day, so the thing will prevent that, perhaps giving a 2-3% charge maximum, with a transit sized battery prob more like 1 %, they keep the battery active though and increase battery life. your supposed to un plug them when starting up, so the bit in it that prevents the charge going out the opposite way in the dark. being burnt out or what ever happens, the other thing i learnt was that there are 2 types of solar panel, the film one, which is cheaper and gives less power but works iwell in low light, the other is a cell one, which apparently if there is less than 33 cells is unable to give a full charge , they are dearer, work better, but only in full sunshine, which rules that one out for british winters. received mine yesterday and the other bits and pieces because i do not pay for postage so hev lots of other things, some of which are being recycled to carboot.

So how do i know if it works?
