my dad filled his 5 year old mondeo up in north london last week, at a tescos store, now its stuttering, coughing, losing power etc all the time. bastids!

I NEVER use Tesco or Morrisons. allways been bad. One of there drivers got confused and filled the diesel with petrol

Not the first time this has happened, though the difference the last time was that only one make of vehicle got effected. This was Vauxhalls and the fuel was Shell's it was the first time they included additives, destroyed cylinders and bores...Shell re-formulated the mix. Absolutely nothing to do with the lawsuit Vauxhalls slapped on them I found out about it a little too late as a Shell garage was my local and I had a 3 year old Vauxhall that began running badly, took it in for a decoke and a quarter of the piston head was gone along with the cylinder bore being scored, whole new bottom engine had to be fitted, because of this I will never use Shell fuel again, just incase they have been fiddling again, mind you the cost of their fuel puts me off anyway.

That may be the case but its only the way they look after their tanks once its been delivered. I regurlarly go to stanlow(ellesmere port) and all the fuel companies, Shell,Esso,BP,Texaco aswell as lots of smaller regional suppliers are queing up.

Got nothing to do with the tanks from the point of view that I mean. Yes all the fuel comes from one place but all the fuel is of different quality and supermarket fuel doesn't have the required aditives which is the reason it is cheaper!

Hmmmmm not what i've heard. Got chatting to a lot of drivers(and sales reps) from different companies and they say its bo""ocks its all the same stuff

Its the aftercare that makes the difference

Well do your research and look at the additive levels in different companies fuels that are on sale and you will see exactly what I mean.

I know this because I did a bit of work for a company called Hyrolec and they were the company that used to make the equipment that injects the additives into the fuel as it is going in the lorries. I've also worked at the Esso oil refinery in Fawley and both the fuel terminals at Fawley and Hamble.
