Whats better a Spec lift or Flatbad?

Im after a new truck what do people here think is best a Spec or Flatbed?

Is there a law that stops you useing a spe for transport? I want to do a bit of both. At the minite im sitting by VOSA station and as they take people off the road im taking them home . But they have pulled me two times soon as I have loaded a car on the back!

I was just thinking that the Spec would have some of the weight on the road and not all on the van like a flatbed. I think im going to go with a Spec lift unless somebody can point out any really bad points.

You are still quite limited with what you can tow on a spec lift because all the weight is now beind the back wheels.

Any body know what the law would be if you put a un taxed car on the back of a spec? I really don't know what to do should I go with a Spec or a lwb recovery

a spec is notorious for being overweight on the rear axle, as you lift the car watch the front of the spec lift, its a cantilever effect, you actually end up transfering some of the weight from your front axle to your rear axle, ive had a few and tbh dont like them, well not in a transit anyway, maybe a 5912 iveco as it a 6 ton motor, transit is to light
