inside the mind of a MKI transit fan

can anyone who likes the MK I transit above any other transit please
give a short explanation as to what is so apealing about them.

to me, the front end looks like a strange and unusual deep sea creature
of some kind. i can't imagine it being too great to look at even in it's time.

but maybe it's not the looks that people find apealing

personally, i prefer the MKII.

What's not to like  !?

Firstly, when the Mk1 came out it very quickly earned the tag 'Britain's most wanted van', not least because they were used in so many bank jobs and other naughty activities, not that that's why I like them  !

They were groundbreaking at the time, understood best by comparing them to thier nearest Ford cousin and predecessor the Thames and competition the B*dford CA. Since the introduction in 1965 they are widely copied, even today. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery! On a personal note, the Mk1 was my first van, and they say you never forget your first.........

Now the Mk1 is a piece of motoring/transport history. I haven't actually driven one for years, but drive a Mk2 on a daily basis. Both Mks are infinately repairable (just as well really! ) and durable. Other than that, no explanation is necessary. If you have to explain, you wouldn't understand anyway, as they say.

I can see it now, the site must've come back up. Looks like a VW combi, dare I say? Wasn't the design team that worked on this involved in 'Project Redcap', pre (then becoming the) Transit?

From the side it looks like a VW combi. From the front it looks like a cross between the Thames and a BMC ...also remins me of a tiny Fiat Van I saw some time ago

Not sure if I like it really
when this world ends.....a diesel engine will still be running
