Sprinter or transit

Just looking to change our transit early next year.

Have been looking a either a mwb sprinter or a lwb transit I know the transit will take all we have in the van now unsure what sizes the load area are on a sprinter.

My son has a vito and is very happy with it and says get a sprinter.

Would rather get a transit better the devil you know.

What faults do sprinter have are they any better than transits.

Looking at a 2.4 rwd don't really want a fwd carry to much weight looking to spend about 7k.

I am only 5 feet 7 but there is only an inch or 2 before the back of the seat is on the bulkhead if you are really tall it must be a bit tight.

Most vans are not built for tall drivers

I remember years ago having a Renault traffic the pedal seemed to over to one side not good for the knees.

Like a van that has got some comfort.

I'm only 5ft 10 and have no problems with a mk7 transit seat but the sprinter is a different ball game
But I don't drive vans any more I drive a MAN TGS 26 t and that's got a lovely air cushion heated seat that's nice and comfy

I know someone who 6 foot 6 and he could not drive the transit at all he normally drives a ford focus and has the seat as far back as it will go.

I do want some comfort and the transit is ok.

The ones I used to dread driving from Manchester to bath daily had proper handbrakes, I was wondering if they had changed them.
I always found the pedals set too high and the seat tilted forward. N

You seem to be talking about the earlier Sprinter, they have a lever to alter the "tilt" on the seat

Yes it was over 10 years ago, 3.5t lutons from Salford van hire, I actually preferred the long long wheel base LT35's to the lutons, but it didn't matter which van I was in the M5 is still a long boring motorway.

Wish I had known about the lever back then, I always felt I was sliding forwards off the seat lol. N

On our transit we have a ply bulkhead behind the seats I don't think it would have been fitted when the van was first produced there is not a lot of room to push the seat back.

I will be looking for newer transit in the new year all vans (sprinters Movana transits etc) have there faults and when they go wrong cost a fortune to fix.

If Ford would produce a brand new lwb mark 5 that would do me the banana engine was so easy to work on and indestructible no fancy electronic.

It just the bodies turned to powder after a few years (rust).

While I am thinking about so does the mark 6 our transit will need some welding next month.
