Went to Garage on Friday

Postby Dan T » Sun Jul 08, 2007 7:33 pm

was at the garage on friday for the following.

Service - new oil filter, new air filter, new diesel filter, oil change (5w/30), top up all coolents/fluids.

Ended up getting these too.

New window wipers
Adjust handbrake
Oil all doors and hindges
Brake inspection
Top up air in tyres

Total £73 including VAT and Labour

Do you recon this is a fair price :?:

Sounds fair to me. Mines in on tuesday for its second service and the brakes sorting out, im hoping my squeeky fan belt is nothing too expensive.

I agree I charge more than that just for the labour if it's a full service

the garage will have to hand over £10.87 vat out of that so will be left with less than £63 to buy all the service parts and still be expected to earn a living   impossible, i would now go and get it serviced because for that price theyve prolly done nothing :!:

Ok the handbrake is a little more involved but surely you could do the rest yourself?

I see it like this:-

about £6 oil filter (ish)
about £8 air filter (ish)
about £15 fuel filter (ish)
oil 5/30 about £15 (ish)

£44 (ish)

labour £90

£134

+VAT £23.45

£157.45

more than twice what you paid
