son in laws '61 plate mk7,got in thro' slider and about 4 grand of tools gone inc chop saw,milwarkee drills and pasloders, must have used tibee as no sign of entry.......they took power tools out, and threw empty cases in a neighbours garden, police would'nt come out to fingerprint as there was no blood even tho' 4 more vans got done inc another 2 trannys.....happened near matlock, so look out folks and get some aftermarket locks too make it harder for the thieving scummy b*stards :twisted:

12.30am, he'd backed it up tight to garage which unfortunately stopped the security light picking them up, and it was hammering it down so they'd shut the bedroom window

Sorry to hear about the theft. Matlock is not too far from me and I always considered it a nice area.

The only real way of stopping the b*st*rds is to take the tools indoors every night and leaving the van doors open which just isnt practical.

I've never looked at opening a Hykee lock but I can open some slamlocks without a key, so if I can do it it's not all that hard. But if all your son in law had was the standard Ford locks it was always going to happen at some point.

Im still a big fan of the idea of securing the side door from the inside (possibly with a chain or padlock) and backing the rear doors up to a wall.
