old mk1

Postby Luke » Tue Jul 24, 2007 8:38 pm

Just been out for a bike ride (cycle) in the local countryside -yes we do have a bit
anyway we'd parked up in a layby and just putting the bikes back in the van i was looking at a picturesque farm yard and i noticed the back lights of a mk1 pickup - ive seen it loads before and always thougt it was a farm trailer :D i could just make out the numberplate ................... E reg :D

i jumped over the wall for a closer look and it was indeed a mk1 pickup swb with a kind of half luton cross horse box on the back  i was just walking up to it when an old bloke shouted at me to go away "this is private property" etc......... :x i asked him if he wanted to sell it and he said NO!!!! :(

im not sure on the condition but its been undercover in this barn for years so it might not be that bad :? - looked up the reg on the DVLA and its not on the computer :!:

just shows they are out there - might have another go at buying it, the guy was about 80 and theres no way he'll restore it, but i dont think ive got off to the best start climbing over his wall

 keep on at him Luke, wear him down. Tell him about the other nutter out there that would appreciate his van, in case he thinks it's worthless and just send it off to scrap cos he doesn't want it.

problem is i think he's one of these stubborn old farmer types who's probly sitting on millions and doesnt even have a TV .......... you know the type

if i offered him £500 (not that i would) for it that would probly be nothing to him and he'd rather keep it to rot :x
