How is the Transit doing in the sales stakes?

I seem to see a hell of allot of the the Vauxhall/Renault vans around, and allot of Sprinters, and it seems like the 2006 Transit is a rare site on britains roads compared to the rivals that seem to be absolutely everywhere! I know of so many fleets that have left Ford and have gone Vauxhall/Renault/Mercedes.

Is Ford losing ground?

yeh like BT and the post office both couldnt get back to Ford quick enough, those Renos with different badges are great for hard shoulder motoring

BT Openworld all have Vauxhalls around here in Leicestershire that I have seen, but I admit that Royal Mail now have the smooth fronted connects instead of the Corsa Combo.

Securitas's entire new fleet is Sprinter based, even though the drivers hate them! Seems to me that the badge is more important to the fleet managers than what the drivers want.

If you can get hold of them!! Ford seem more interested in supplying mainland europe than the UK, especially in the T350 specification.

Maybe that is why allot of fleets are going to an alternative make as they are so desperate for them, but Ford cant deliver?

i think that could be true, trouble is when they have made that "alternative" move not long after they wished they would have waited an associate of mine re-fleeted his rather large hire fleet with shitreons, well a year later hes getting rid and going back to Transit and says he wont stray again

BT wanted better prices, Ford said no because they know they can sell them all day long, BT buy crap other vans and regret it and go back to Ford probably paying more then before!

My mums business wanted to buy a new 17 seat Transit minibus, but the salesman at my work said that theyre is a 6 month wait for them!! She had to settle for a old shape second hand 06 minibus. The drivers at work all want to drive it, as they hate the Sprinter minibuses that they have on their fleet!

same with the mail, they bought the first batch of connects at escort van prices as someone in ford messed up, then they wanted more and ford had the "proper" price but connect apparantley is an expensive van to build and the mail said no thanks, they bought combos totally crap vans, couldnt get back into the connects quick enough, and at the proper price

reno/vaux/nissan all same van using reno 1.9dci and 6 speed box which breaks easily i had one for about ten mins killed it within return peroid gave it back in disgust they just ofer you a good deal spares get u mate had his altrnator go £480!

Oh yes, 4 wheels at the back. I cant drive them though, as I passed my test just after Labour changed the licence rules in 1997.
