recovered this morning - it had a GPS tracker fitted the thieves had parked it up and left it i assume so if it had a tracker it wouldnt lead back to their place luckly it did :D

i would advise anyone to get a tracker fitted - they can be bough for less than £20 and fitted with a PAYG sim

the police still haven't turned up

Good result for the tracker then :D

I was going to fit one, but kept being told that the tea leafs now have jammers to stop them working. Worth a rethink maybe :)

yeah you can get jammers cheap but i still think a tracker is worth it they wouldn't leave it parked up with the jammer on as it defeats the object i would think they will only use it while they are driving in it so for the space of time after the van is parked up until they come back for it it's worth it especially as they are so cheep

also thing with this is the original key has started it to recover it - i thought they plugged into the obd to reprogram it to their key - it would seem they can clone a key to the van - i didn't realise it was that way round

Yes, they just add a key to the system, and they probably still have that key, so you need to get all keys except yours (his) deleted, using IDS
