Quiet

Seems very quiet around the forum lately. Not that I frequent the site all the time, but the place doesnt seem the hive of activity that it once was :(

I have been thinking the same thing lately, there are far more people asking questions, than there are, answering them.
Most of the new members signing up to ask a question, don't stay to share any knowledge with other new members, most don't even bother staying to read the answers to their own question.

Out of nearly 82000 members, there are less than 50 who have been recently active on the forum.

Maybe that's why it seems to be quiet

Not at all, I've been noticing it for a while. A lot of members who were prolific posters seem to have fallen by the wayside in the last few years, and although we recruit several newbies a day, most of them either never post, post once or twice, or post many times over a month or so, and then disappear. Hopefully, the forum provides them with what they need to know so they don't need to ask, but it's always a shame that they don't share what they do know with other members, because everyone knows something that others don't 8)

One of the reasons is that there’s so much useful information here, that if you’re bright enough to use the search function, you’ll find what you want to know without ever having to post. It’s not very often that a brand new issue/question is posted.

Then you get the people who come along and post loads of daft questions and wonder why they get short shrift from regulars. Even if they get an answer, they fail to thank the people who’ve helped.

Remember folks, we know if you’ve been back to look at the reply

The Facebook transit pages have a lot to answer for also. I'm not much of a regular nowadays but 8-10years ago when I first came around the forum was a hive of activity
