Hi savagesam, join the club! Im trying to get tfl to make my van compliant, its a 51 plate like yours, …..havent had any pcns yet, but got a warning letter. Dont pay the fines, yours should be a euro 3 engine, so should be ok. Kevin on the forum got them to recognise his 51 plate, as being compliant, so there is hope! Terry

hi folks, i just got hit with a PCN for driving in the LEZ a few weeks back. £500! insane.
it feels worse to know i've been in and out 6 times since, that's like 2.5 of PCN's waiting for me. i had no idea they changed the rules! i never got a letter, should i have?

i have a Y reg transit, 2001, so surely i should have a euro3 engine and be ok? it makes no sense.

i guess i too got mixed up in the "new rules"

is there a way to "prove" my euro status? my v5 is blank in the euro field, for whatever reason.

there it is... no change. so why are us sub 3.5k lot getting f*cked all of a sudden?
must be the fact i have no euro on my V5c... but registered mid 2001 - that's euro 3 fair and square.

guess i'll call DVLA on monday and ask them to update my V5c

madness

Hi eggroller…dont panic, the guy whose post is above yours, is a mate from croydon, ….he succesfully got tfl to recognise his van as compliant, he has a 51 plate mk 6. Im trying to get tfl to do the same for me. Hopefully, if they done that for his van, in theory, they should do it for all mk 6 vans , as they all have euro 3 engines. Terry

Hi eggroller Have you driven out of greater london & come back in recently? My theory is you can possibly drive in greater London it's when you go out the LEZ and come back in you get a pcn or warning letter.

@kevin t yes this trip was to pick something up a few weeks back. looks like i got pinged on the return journey north, out of london. no PCN for "coming in" (i actually live just outside of the LEZ)
anticipate getting a few more of these as i've been in and out since...

@ME van is used for carriage of own goods etc and is insured as such. wonder if that's what's "tripping" the system, combined with no euro emissions on V5C, and a date close to euro3 cutoff?

Hi eggroller and me, dont think what you use van for has anything to do with lez compliancy, whether you use van for camping , shopping etc, or use it for your work as a builder.
When i put query in to tfl lez team, dont think i was asked what i use van for!
As for emissions on v5 being blank, so was kevins whos van has now been made compliant, and his van is a late 2001 van.

thanks for your help.

they have been useless but hopefully will get somewhere.

the advertised emails on the website don't work...
LezLondon@tfl.gov.uk says it's no longer being used, and i should email:
cclondon@cclondon.com
LEZLondon@cclondon.com
these emails don't even exist!!! mail just bounces.

in the end i have sent it using the "appeal" section of the PCN. i hope they get it...?

i don't advise calling - they can't help.

@savagesam - what email did you send to?

i've been calling them and they hang up on me.

no reply from anyone regarding LEZ compliance.

web chat still directs me to email addresses that don't work.

in the mean time i have to drive in the LEZ and am racking up PCNs!!!!

madness...
