2 weeks ago on a wednesday i had something hit my windscreen and put a big crack 1/2 way across screen, i called autoglass who claim to fit windscreens at your convienince, i asked them could they replace my screen next day they said no so i said could you do it at the weekend ? they replied no we dont work at weekends, monday morning is the earliest, so i booked it, im self employed long distance driver my van is my job so needs to on the road, they turned up and had brought the wrong screen :roll: after a few calls they said the van needs to go the their depot but they couldnt get me in till thursday, another day lost work but hey ho off to autoglass depot i go, get there to be told they have got the wrong screen again :evil: FFS,so they now rebooked me for tommow so another days work lost, god help the fitter if its not right tommorow

Go for a independent tell them to get lost .

Why would that stop him choosing someone else? As far as I am aware there are no insurance clauses saying "thou must only use company a for windscreen repairs" only ones saying that "we will only pair for windscreen repairs done by company a".

So if company a has cost multiple days of lost revenue, it may well be beneficial to go elsewhere

I wasn’t clear. If he’s paying £25 excess to his insurance co to get a £*** screen fitted, he probably doesn’t want to go elsewhere.

I think that the insurance company’s is only a recommendation and you can go where you like the local one I use can do most of them but not all and he doesn’t charge you the excess .
