what do you use to line the floor in the back of your vans

Postby MONSTER 0NE » Thu Nov 08, 2007 8:50 pm

as per title, as im looking to use some sort of hard wearing rubber or something that candle having things chucked on it with out it riping to shreads, as all i can find is small rubber mats about 4ft by 2ft which means i would have loads of joins all over the place as the vans about 5ft 6 wde and 10 ft long. so any ideas or info would be welcome

Whats wrong with ply? But you can get a special heavy duty rubber stuff made to fit, prolly won't be cheap though.

Or cheq plate, but that'd be at least £150 just for a swb floor

I used a sort of lino but it lays in strips and looks like laminate flooring.
It was very cheap from levey's and has survived several festivals (including a very wet Glastonbury)
It is self adhesive and has never lifted, a quick wipe is all it has ever needed.

ive always used carpet personally, but what about the rubber matting designed for floors. it comes in jigsaw shaped pieces that you lock together and you could cut it to fit.

Carpet all the way for me on the wood. Might put in some new found Carpet ( Free ) just to give it a nice feel again.

I've got a Tourneo and use the plastic matting that you normally put inside your front door to protect your carpet. It only cost £9 to do the whole van and I dont need to hoover it - I mop instead.

thats the stuff, I think its 1m wide so its ideal for the back of a minibus / Tourneo or for the front of the van.
Its really hard wearing and costs pennies compared to rubber matting

i have been thinking of using laminate flooring in my van (hangs head in shame ) as i use it mostly to go fishing and thought it would go nice with the magnolia painted ply on the sides

need to fine something clear to use as a drop curtain to see the bite indicators through when im tucked up inside now and get the roof insulated
