If you aint gonna piss get off the feckin pot

The A9 is a bad road for people not overtaking even though it's got no sharp corners/blind summits etc on the entire perth-inverness 112mile section. They'll sit in ques for miles and miles and only pass when they get to a section of dual carriageway.
For econemy reasons I stick to about 60mph. Prolly about 2 weeks back I was coming up the A9, doing the usual 60ish. About 20mins after a dual section I came up to a que behind a vehicle, doing about 50mph. Must've been at least 10 cars in the que, most of them had probably been past me on the dual 20mins earlier. I could see that non-one was overtaking (even though the other side was quiet) and I knew the next dual section wasn't for about 10 miles so I just overtook them all in one go at about 60mph

do you not think overtaking is a forgotten art ?

i used to work in norfolk and they just dont do it there so i used to come up on que's of 20 odd cars behind a country caddilac and blast past them at 60 when they are doing 20 or overtake lorries coming off roundabouts (they are nice road planners down there and have 2 lane exits ) then when i was having a food stop i heard 2 lorry drivers saying that loony sierra driver must be here as his cars out side !!

my record is 47 cars and 1 tractor on the A1 south of berwick , had my passenger count them , straight road not a thing coming the other way and all doing 20 LOL

i think worst car to be stuck behind is a 2CV , 68 flat out and you cant pass for laughing as the door handles bounce off the road on any corner :D

Yes

and yes the A9 is bad used to commute every day from here to Inverness and they do not know how to overtake or leave sufficient gaps for those wishing to overtake. If you are approaching a slower moving vehicle but you do not want to ovetake leave a gap so that more confident motorists can get away.

problem today is theres so much "safety camera partnership" bollox shoved down our throats :x that people who cant make think for themsleves, (which seems to be 90% of the general population) are taught to think that you are a danger to everyone if you do so much as overtake a tractor

ive even had times where ive overtaken someone, not even gone over the speed limit and as i pull infront of them (i.e a perfectly legal manouver) they start flashing there lights at me

why cant it be like in france where if you are overtaking the oncoming car moves over to the edge to give you more room, where as here they move to the centre (and start flashing there lights) to make it harder and more dangerous to pass :|

makes no sence to me, seems very selfish :!:

Thats the way to do it

I would do exactly the same once the opportunity prevails. I cannot understand people who spend fortunes on cars which can exceed the speed limit by 50+% to sit all day behind another vehicle doing 40mph. As sc_BK says, if you're not going to pass go and park it somewhere else :D
