what are they

Postby Wolfie » Mon Nov 07, 2005 8:52 am

this has been asked on another forum that i use and has got everybody stumped, anyway here is the question.

Driving to London on the M4 the other day I went past a car transporter lorry/drag and couldn't believe what I saw on it. I actually slowed up so's he came alongside me in order to get another look.

It was carrying three double headed Transits!

There was a normal Transit front end, or cab, a short (bare) chassis....... and another front end facing the other way!! The cabs were complete with a rear bulkhead like that on a pickup. They had four wheels but in the sense that it had two sets of front wheels.

First off I thought they were chassis cabs with the bare chassis overlapping at the back, but NO! They were defo double cabbed vehicles!!

anybody got a clue?????

na he says that there was two cabs on the one chassis, one at either end.

just reread what you are saying, are you saying that they were in fact only half a chassis with just the front wheels on them and the cab etc ie just the front then the camper maker grafts his own chassis on??

Thats the one- theyve done it with the seville vans for years but theyve only just been able to do it with the transit - due to the introduction of FWD. :D
