WHIRRING NOISE IS IT MY PUMP

Postby billtee » Wed Feb 06, 2008 12:14 am

As you can remember my fan belt shredded and got round my crank and lifted my cam belt and timing went out and wrecked my top end   . Any way were up and running again with no cost to me  Motor factors paid for most of my bits .Anyway now i've got a whirring sound related to engine speed and it's not the cambelt tensioner i've fitted a new 1.I'VE got a bosch pump i'm wondering weather the excessive tension the cambelt recieved could of strained the pump bearings any info would be appreciated thanks again everyone.

When start a post with as you can remember it means you should probably reply to your original thread. There is over 5000 members on here and they all have problems and not everyone has the memory of an Elephant!

Have you tried running it with the alternator belt off?

What make of auxilliary belt have you fitted? Some of the cheap ones do tend to 'whirr'

Like MrMPuk says, drop the belt off and see if it still makes the noise, that will cut your options in half straight away
