please give me an answer!

hey guys/gals i have this question and i cant seem to find an answer to it anywhere so heres hoping that someone on here can help!

Me and my fella have just taken ovr my dads transit (beautiful big black thing, racing stripes leather interior black bull bar just perfect) and the great thing is the insurance and tax is all paid for.

Now the thing is, my fella is insured to drive it (full licence) and the insurance states that me (a provisional driver) is insured to drive it as well.

Great!!!!! Only problem is I cant find out anywhere whether I am actually allowed to learn to drive in a transit van!!!!!!!!!!!

Its so annoying knowing that Im insured but that the dvla dont say anything with regards to driving one!

Please help! Its killing me just looking at the keys lol x

well i learnt in a van (and so did my mum ) so i cant see why not

unless some new law i dont know of has come out

phew! I know it sounds bad coming from a copper but i was thinking if i dont get an answer Im just guna drive her anyway! lol

I would TREBLE check the insurance covers leaners though!

Really? Why? I reverse the vans, even Lutons all the time! That's what mirrors are for, and if in doubt get out and have a look.

I've treble checked the insurance cause at first I was thinking no way im not insured to learn but turns out i am, even rung the insurance company and they said yes so happy days!

my mum failed her 1st test in a 100E van for hitting the kerb on a reverse round a corner, which she was asked to do - apparantly she should have asked the examiner to get out and guide her

but that was in 1970

I passed my test in 1970........In a Transit Van

The reason I was given at the time was.......

It was unreasonable to expect a pupil to reverse round a L/H corner

due to bad visability.........

I had to reverse round a R/H though
