On 95 on Transit diesel the rev counter will work straight away as long as there are 3 wires on the bolt on terminals on the alternator, the big wire, charging, the bluewire, dash warning light, the third, grey if my memory serves me,rev counter.if it only has 2 wires,no rev counter.

Escort diesels are the same, take the rev counter feed from the W terminal i think it is, to power the rev counter :)
Put an RS2000 Mk2 dash in my mk2 (now removed for the cortina) but had to rewire for that one as it has extra clocks and no iol light.

Hello lads & lasses I fitted these Mondeo 1800 diesel clocks a while back now to my van and I've not had any probs with them. All gauges read as normal ie temp fuel speedo etc.
I am not a mechanic or even an auto electician its just years of playin around with fords starting way back in time with the Mk 1 & 2 Cortina's and right through the Sierra and Granada range.Just gives me a buzz playin around with the factory installed stuff.
Transit owners do it in the dirt

Mate i think its a great how2 i just added geoff's bit about the 2 wires it seems like the revcounter might not work on 100% of transits if i had a mk3,4,5 i'd do the swap!!!

Now who else has one for us???

Yeah, I misunderstood when this was posted, and thought I could put this in use with a Mk2. Nope  . As I said earlier, we had already tried it, to no avail

I know about the tina dash, I am saving one for the stretch (140 mph max!). I thought this was about the Mk3 transit dash, which would have been handy as you can easily get these, but the Mk2s a getting harder to find, and it's the fuel gauges that are crucial.

No need to save one how many do you want
Got err, quite a few cortina dashes, got one in the Mk2 now (replaced the Mk2 escort RS2000 one)
If you need a wiring diagram for the cortina rev dash let me know :D .
You may need to move a few wires and run a wire to the neg side of the coil and if you have a clock in the dash you will have a live left over (handy for a stereo)
