I have just replaced my Mk6 Transit gearbox and have my old one here which needs reconditioning (has done 100k, out of a 2003 2.4 duratorq transit)
Are there any companies about who buy gearboxes and recondition them to sell them on?

take it to a scrap yard some of them will buy it as scrap.
as when i went to buy my starter motor they wanted £70 or my old starter and £50 f***ing rip off so they do make money on old units

try your local gearbox place - they may give you a few quid for it
