selling my welder???

Postby the_big_fact_hunt » Mon Mar 31, 2008 9:18 pm

Hi folks, i'm seriously thinking of selling my welder, and getting a small mig to learn with. My welder is a Draper 1801T turbo mig if i remember correctly, its a big bugger (the wheels have been removed as it was fitted in a works van), and takes big gas bottles.
Now... i'm no welder, but it seems to work ok, but the panel under the lid where the wire spool lays flat is split, probably due to the weight of the spool bouncing about when travelling and the centre where the spool mounts on the plastic leg has broken through, i have used it with a mini spool and it seems ok, should be an easy diy repair for someone with metal cutting tools to make a replacement panel or the spool to sit on. It also needs a regulator for the bottle.
Any idea how much to ask for it? i was thinking something like £100-150??? i did look it up in a catalogue when i got it and they were listed at about £650 new.
Any ideas on value folks?
