24hour parts suppliers/dealers in the SOutheast

Postby AK » Sat May 17, 2008 11:57 am

Now after braking down the other night in London at 10pm, it came apparent to me that unlike up North we don't seem to have anywhere to be able to obtain parts 24/7.

typically my 54 plate luton decided to through the alternator belt, as the tensioner had seized, caused by the bearings in the alternator being shot. However the AA chap tried to ring a round a few places for parts, but its seems none of the places he tried sticked transit parts ont he shelf.

So does anyone know of anywhere in the Southeast where you can get parts for transits?

I guess like many other self employed drivers, down time is expensive, and I would have rather the AA been able to repair on the side of the road, than having a days down time and hire costs, which is what I ended up with.

Midnight motors in Wembley are open till 10pm, so even they might not have been any help. They are on 020 8903 3388.

There is a little place in Finsbury Park that is open till 10pm, then after that they live over the shop so will sell you stuff through a hatch like a petrol station! I would have to look out their number though.

You are damn lucky to get the AA to do anything I find!

I always had more trouble getting hold of parts out of hours up North rather than down here.

The issue is that the AA have a target for their patrols to repair 96% of vehicles on the side of the road, and this poor chap didn't want me to ruin his 100% he had so far this week lol

Both guys were great, I thought there might be a problem when it comes to recovery, as its a jumbo luton with tail lift, but no the old guy who came out with the truck was more than happy.

Thanks for that number I'll add it to my phone

Lots of AA blokes go to Midnight Motors. You get good and bad AA and RAC patrilmne, just recently though I seem to have come in contact with the bad ones
