but on the plus side if it gets written off which it might and you get full blame on the truck driver you could buy the van back for peanuts and fix that for next to nowt

the think what will write that van of is the panel the headlight bolts too :) - rest is an easy swap, but if your doing it yourself - just bend the headlight panel back

pay out depends on your insurer. But if you are un happy with the pay out. Best thing to do is refuse it and find a similar van to your and prove to them its worth more then what they are offering.

The sort of damaged caused to your vehicle really mow depends on the guy who come to work out an estimate, unless your insurer tell you to take it to a garage you would like to have the repairs done from, in that case you can get what ever estimate you want.

My guess on the pay out on that will be about 2.0k-2.5k going on the fact o got 2.2k for my s reg 99 plate last year summer.

Hope this helps.

To the pay out, no mate. But if you haven’t got solicitors its a lot more hassle, as this case can go on for ages, they will need to get payment from the dumper drivers insurer before they pay you. Could takes ages……… if he is disputing. Where as if you were fully comp you pay out your excess and you get your payout the dispute continues afterwards. Being insured third party will just stretch the case out that’s all.

When I spoke to my insurance earlier, they said that if the other parties insurance dont admit liability within 48 'working' hours then it will be passed onto the solicitors to sort out.

TBH if there wasnt anything saying you shouldnt stop there then theres nothing the driver can do about it, He hit you at the end of the day and not seeing you is not really an excuse

Saying that me dad got a clain agains him off a woman who said he hit her going over a bridge, he was on the curb STATIONARY waiting for her to move and she claims the van hit her, last time i checked stationary vans dont just hit someone and they definatly dont move sideways to do it, and to finish it off she said he sped away, its a 70ps ffs

Sorry to hear of your accident

If my experiences are of any conciliation, things are never that simple.

Driving down the road I see a car indicating to turn right into a side road. I start slowing, the other car is now completely on the other side of the road so I now start to accelerate to pass the vehicle. But as I draw closer the reversing light on the other car light up and the car starts moving back onto the left side of the road. I brake as much as I could but the other car keeps coming. As a result I collided with the rear n/s corner of the car. Apparently there was a police car making a 180 turn using the side road thus blocking the way for the car that I collided with. This was the other drivers' excuse for reversing back onto the main road. Her insurance company claims that she looked in her mirrors and there was nothing there so she reversed back. I am now waiting on the court case for it to be settled. :x

So even when you believe beyond doubt that you are in the right, it does not mean that you are right.

I hope that everything goes your way as I believe that you are in the right. :)

PS Did you paint your van BRG? & if so was it with RUSTOLEUM COMBI :?:
