It would have to be fitted very low down or the propshaft angle would be too steep, I doubt u would have enough length unless u use a lwb van!

Mid mounted ,and as low down as possible , a bit like the mk1 supervan with flared arches and massive wheels ,I drove a mk1 around London for a living in the 70;s ,getting a bit old now and just thinking about what i should of had then but couldn't afford ,but now !!!!

Yes muttley ,you are probably correct,as i remember a long wheel base is semi high top and won't go in the garage , what about an audi fwd that uses a trans-axle ,much shorter ,lots more work though, gotta be done.

To be truthful it would be a doddle, cut out all the floor between the rails, lower in your v8 and box. Line it up with the diff flange and fabricate a frame to fix it there. Then replace the floor around it creating more strength where needed. All u would then need is a very short propshaft a bit of plumbing and wiring, a radiator and voila!!

There is only two stock roof lines in the Mk1 and the Mk2, flat on the SWB and higher on the LWB. There is a High top fibreglass roof but I have a feeling that's aftermarket.

One maniac car builder has putted a mid mounted Twin Turbo V8 with over 1000 HP into a Transporter so the swb should do awright :D
