what would you change about yours?...

Postby executivetravel » Tue Sep 02, 2008 11:49 am

if you could, what would you change about your transit?

i dont like the tourneo tailgate, and would prefer normal twin rear doors, an extra 100hp would be nice and a 6 speed box.... oh, and the higher roof.....

not much to ask then!

I like it the way it is, although when I ordered it I said I didn't want a passenger airbag and I got a passenger airbag. I'd also want the 6 speed box and also a sunroof. :D

what   tailgates are much better - only reason i'd ever want barn doors is if i was loading the van with a crane or forktruck

and my mk4 i'd change the arches for non rusty ones

and my cossy - i'd have the twin turbos front alloys, and lsd but thats all in the pipeline

Yep, could live without the rust, otherwise I wouldn't change much.

tailgates look a good idea, try opening and shutting in quiet streets picking up at 3am on an airport run.....

but you can use em as a shelter in the rain...

...sld the same opening height as rear doors on mk6 semi high, inner member now has pipe insulation to prevent head banging on exit, needless to say not banged head since. Door / flap on the above cab compartment in the load bay to stop things falling out - I crudely made two sliding doors out of ply. Grab handles for getting in and out of load bay and cab, and a handle on inside of both rear doors not just one. I know the 'handle' issue can be self resolved but it's better done from the start. Finally better lighting in the load bay, from manufacture again, although I've added striplights to see in my toolbox.
