Yes Ford just cannot wait to exit the uk,just like every other manufacturer,Transit just wouldn't be the same without the Brit connection so lets enjoy and preserve whats while it's there,you wouldnt get me spending my money on a turkish bin .

i know i worked that out a few years back when they were demolishing most of Dagenham Heritage Ford , forget it if they go i will never buy another new Transit i will go back to Jap at least its not Turkish crap

well that will always happen but for me i will stay with the old one for fun and a nice reliable jap for day to day if they pull out, i wont stay loyal to a company that isnt loyal to me and mine

I think i've had one of the good vans, had it for 4 years, on the wiring looms it has "Istanbul" so has it been built in turkey or just the looms

What you on about i've only had the one (this one) the mk5 was a work van, that I my dad later scrapped cause the engine got knackered and he was quoted stupid money for it. Anyway i'm keeping the mk7 for as long as it lasts! Still after a mk1 though but ill be keeping the mk7 too.

When I said i'd probably buy another transit, I mean ill still be keeping the mk7, there's no way in hell i'd get rid off her, but next year my work van (the renault master shed!) will be getting sold and i'm gonna try and get a transit either brand new or a good 2nd hand mk6/mk7. Also some time in the near future i'm wanting to buy a mk1 or a mk2.

I like the look of the sportvan hence that i've got some sportvan stuff fitted to her, like the alloys that are in my garage that haven't been fitted yet, and theres also the exhaust tip on order

No no like I said I don't and won't be replacing her. As for the mk1/2, i'm currently watching the sprite thats on ebay for next year, old pal of the family getting married in France and my dad wants to hire a camper so he can take his bike So I might that one.

Looks like theres going to be a new transit in 2010 i.e only 2 years time

This I will assume will mean the closure of the southamption factory which is already in a winddown mode and like;y to just become a
special vehicle operations plant etc. This will also mean that all current models will look dated and anyone thinking of buying may ask themselves "Shall I wait For The New Model".

Looks like all Transits will be made in Turkey soon

This will leave only LDV + Vauxhall/Renault as the only 2 companies producing vans in the UK
