unravel this one then.....

Postby executivetravel » Mon Sep 08, 2008 6:01 pm

ref a mk6 tourneo...

ok, its overdue for a service

it felt sluggish, had a habit of hunting when cold, and maybe a flat spot about 2000 rpm

i booked it at fords for a diagnostic as its under warranty

they said "its got the wrong fuel filter fitted, its got a TDDi filter, not a TDci...."

so i fetched it back, but its got a white fuel filter on, genuine ford with "TDci/Di" on it....

they had opened the water bleed tap cos there was liquid gold on the top of my gearbox

so then, are they fobbing me off?

its having a service monday, my service people (Norflex agents, do British Gas and Coca Cola fleets+HGV) say mr ford must be sniffing unleaded again...

my (real) repairers actual words were..."borrox, we keep those filters in stock, theres no wrong ones, it either fits or dont"

as theyve looked after my citroen relay, fiat ducato, transit 350 and merc sprinter 311cdi extra long wheelbase i tend to believe em

No wonder its got the wrong filter on it

Theres a fair chance you've just lost any warranty on your fuel system because of that as well

Probably quite likely as they do mostly fleet stuff that they don't do any other Mk6 TDCi's.
