Advice of value please

Postby sidspop » Fri Jan 20, 2006 10:34 pm

Bit vague this, but....
I am looking to change my van, currently a G plate with 250k on the clock and body a bit scabby. I have seen a newer van, R plate which is ideal as Semi High rof, swb. Looks like its been blown over, but I have no idea of engine, miles, bodywork, etc (it was on a sales pitch that was locked up)
Question is what sort of price would it be worth, as an average van. I know it's awkward, but I have no idea of values. Thanks

high miles rotton arches around £1000 , very nice nick with low miles service history then more near £1800 -£2000 if its a turbo then expect to pay more !
vans are hard to price, :? its how much you want a good one! and how much you will pay for a good one! take the ex bt dealers sell them out at £4000 plus vat but they are nice low milage vans! if you want a van thats well seviced then they are the best vans to buy but ,avoid the dealer prices!

r reg 1200 quid if good order if its white look at the cab fittings pedals seats if worn well probably been to moon and back totally disregard speedo unless it has fsh that makes sense a lot of vans can clock up 150k before their first mot

Just had a look at it,
2.5 DI, 140k on the clock, 11 months MOT, Taxed Feb. Good tyres, drives ok, Clean in cab, back is ply lined but needs redoing. Got towball. Arches need repairs, but, overall seems cleanish, and better than the one I have.
He's asking 1400, and won't haggle, obviously price depends on area, and the use it's had, and this is 2 owner builders van
Thanks for the help gents, any more advise welcome
