Sound proofing with foam or roof insulation

Postby chrisuk » Sun Jan 22, 2006 10:05 am

Just occured to me whether I should do this as I have a open back, its not that noisey but a bit of insualtion between the boards in the back Im sure will really quiten things down considerably, have any of you gone this route using foam or roofing material.

Cheers

i did this, got some rockwoll insulation from a local insulation specialist, wasnt very dear (cant remember how much tho) think it was 75mm thick but you will have to check with a supplier as i cant remember how thick it was either, i got bats instead of a roll, think they are 1200 x 600 panels so easier to handle, i have carpeted my ply with stuff from work, all helped on the noise front and is quite snug to kip in now, if you do insulate it, hold the insulation in place with gaffa tape then fit your ply. will make it loads easier

Gaffa tape is good tip, think I'll go this route, thanks for that
