Ex RAC or ex AA?

Ive seen a couple of vans that Im keen on, however one isnt a Transit....
One is an ex AA VW T4 van and the other is an ex RAC Transit.
Which one would be better as I just want it to use a car and not rreally use as a van would be?

if i had the choice i would go for the transit, i take it, its the mk6.

my brother had a t4 2001 and I still have nightmares, 1 of the most uncomfortable vans made. The seat are rock solid. The gear stick is in the wrong place. You cant have 3 people sitting on the front seats as the space just isn’t there. Where as in the transit 3 people can sit nice and comfortable. Other then that the t4 looks dated. Mk6 is till a great looking van. T4 you cant get a 8x4 sheet between the arches in the transit you can. In other words what I am saying is that the t4 is a pile of pooo. Hope this answers your questions.

I know but the VW would be a suitable size to use as a car (and I drove one very briefly when the AA came out to my Astravan a few years ago ) but at the same time the Tranny is in a nice colour and is the perfect size for what I have planned

I know, but in my very first job straight from I went in the company van which didnt seem that bad (but didnt drive as I couldnt drive ).
The double passenger seats wouldnt bother me because when I buy a van Id replace them with a single and make it swivel round to face the back.....
Oh yes, it is a Mk6 Im looking at............
In fact in the trade sales section one of the sponsors have an ex RAC van being advertised from 1800, wonder if theyd take a P/X on an 03 Vauxhall Astra car?

I'm not one for the elitest thing, I don't care what badge is on the front if it does what I need of it. I've used a T4 for 5 months before (1.9 TD), and comparing it to my 2.5 85ps Turbo I can say the following:

T4 is more comfortable, quieter, better on fuel and quicker, doesn't seem to rust as quick. Transit is bigger, and better at towing, it's arguably easier to work on too.

I don't mind the looks of the T4 from the front, but the back is a bit of a mess. I dare say though that if you want something more car like for throwing stuff in, then from personal experience the T4 may be the best bet. But, as I said, you could just buy a car?

Because Ive got a car already and have used a van as a car before but Im getting those pangs to go back to using a van again plus I want to convert it to a sort of camper for occasional trips away etc.....

Ive used an Astravan as a car before but I decided to go back to driving a car again for the last few years, however just recently Ive had those urges to go back to a van again (this time a slightly larger one )

i cant really se any reason to go back to a car the transit gives good fuel mpg, fair enough its slow but with all the cameras and traffic jams these days you cant seem to get your foot down anywhere

and the van gives good vision and good turning circle - very easy to park in tesco (only a swb tho)

Well Ive emailed a trader on eBay selling an ex RAC Tranny seeing if he'll take in p/x my Astra car, not holding my breath out though....
