If you're referring to the little hard rubber ball, it reduces the impact of the oil pressure applied to either a clutch or band

(a bit like getting rid of water hammer in your domestic plumbing)

i blew mine up in the granny today , was getting ready to move it over to my dads house, sitting on the drive in neutral, revved the engine. seemed a bit fluffy, revved it again and there was this almighty bang from the gearbox, put it in drive and it was awkward to shift out but no gears engaged, turned it all of, put in neutral revved it a bit and soved it into drive at about 2.5k and it lept forward and everything was free, drives now, but theres a horrible tinkly-tinkly-crunch noise that repeats over and over

Is this valve block replaceable with A4LD? with 2 internal solenoids? what are good for check balls?
