Hot Air Gun Tips

Postby Scotty86 » Sat Jan 03, 2009 12:14 pm

(yes I'm slightly retarded)

Could some one give me a how to on using a Hot Air Gun on the bumpers? Gonna try it over weekend. Basically want to know how long to hold the gun on an area for and if any other products are to be put on the bumper before or after using the gun.

Thanks,
Scotty

Hi scott just take the bumpers of the van for a start as you don’t wana f*k up your shrink rap job  . Then just keep the heat gun about 6”-7” away from the bumper move it around in a small area and you will see the colour of the bumper change and a slight shine should appear. :)

Also you can use smooth peanut butter as most people have been saying this. I think you would apply this before you start with the heat gun????? :? Not to sure about that let someone come on who knows.

scotty heat the bumpers up warm enuf that you can still touch em, rub them with a cloth till the crap comes out, do the whole bumper and then heat up a portion of it and use a product like auto glym plastic restorer or one called black wow, do the whole bumper like that and they will come up mint mate, if your no sure mate check the connect section and look for grizzle or finerdetails mate, there both proffesional detailers  or check out www.detailingworld.co.uk
