The end is nigh

Postby tim » Thu Apr 20, 2006 9:45 pm

  Ooh! lads look at this,Brown bags out again

Spoken like a true LDV owner wobler!

What a lot of 'Transit experts' don't realise is that is was designed by the same guy as the 'old' sherpa/J4 then the strength was engineered out to reduce costs!!

It just runs on Ford bits - just take a look underneath! (Not the current version)

A colleage of mine was at the Launch of the 'new' at the time transit with the sloped front, they openend both the optional side sliding doors and loaded two pallets of bricks on to show it's versitility, then the doors wouldn't slide shut because the chassis had bowed! Quick closure of curtains and red faces all round!!

Sounds like a load of balls to me

Transit has always been built to do a job for a finite length of service, if any model was designed to last forever then sales or new vehicles and replacement parts would suffer.

If LDV or Austin as it was then hadn't used enough steel in their chassis to build an ocean liner it's drive dynamics and fuel economy might have been better........it's looks would have still been dire though :!:

LDV are a company who want to cling to the 70's and thats why they need to buy in their power units and drivelines.

The NEW transit is currently having it's UK dealer launch in Cannes, and there have been no issues as yet

  ye right you should see what i chuck in the back of our vans i dont see no bent chassis

dont worry his maxus will go wrong very soon if it dont break down it will fall apart  you want the truth well i shut a side door once on a v reg ldv convoy and bloody thing kept going   absolute crap :!: as someone else said you dont see ldv using there own running gear!! no they use transit engines
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

LDVs are just a cheaply made van :!:

Harrow council ordered a fleet of the old shape ones and they've been nothing but trouble :!:

The ones they had before litteraly fell to peices :!:

Their 'locks' could be opened with ANY key with the exeption of the back door which didn't need a key even when locked :!:

Horrible choppy ride :!:

And as someone else said a van whos design is in the seventies :!:

I'm not biased, credit where credit's due their new M**us is a welcome improvement but that's all it is

Just don't compare it to a transit
