Transit van club

Postby petervanlee » Mon Apr 25, 2005 10:35 pm

Hi All
In the last few days I have spoken to quite a few Transit van fans, I have done this in order to get some feedback on the prospect of starting up a Transit van club. They are all saying it must be done and what better time to do it than this year. I could do all the paperwork, news letter, membership lists, and History questions artwork and also do the leg work for any event that the club members would like to put on. (Would need some help on the event weekend) My weak points are the mechanical and technical side of things and I know if I am going to find any body to help me it's going to be right here. So to get to the point I need a couple of people to help get this going. The news letter could go out every two months but I would need some one to help with the bits I have mentioned. The club would be non profit making organisation. So I need feedback and help on these few points. A fare price a year would be £10, (six news letters and a sticker) this would be paid into a transit van Club bank account. As I have said before I have the full support of Ford with this and we would get to attend shows that are sponsored by ford. Some of the van would be used in ford promotions and picture’s and press events. I also have a chance to get Classic van involved. Not many clubs start with this kind of offers after all. The first news letter would go out two months from today. All I need is help with the mechanical and technical sides of things.

As I have said The club side of things I will take care of but I will not turn help away if you want to get involved Please LMK what you all think. I NEED FEEDBACK.

Go on then Pete, if you're determined to do it, which I think we can safely say you are, go for it. You say about support from Ford, will they have any say in how the club's run?. I'll give any help I can.

MOST DEFFINATELY ME TOO! We seem to have hit a silly season at work, which is why I haven't been about on the board too much (never, mind, gives everybody else a chance  ) but any help I can give I will. At this rate, it may have to be in the middle of the night though, in front of the computer........

Classic van and Pickup Magazine

Postby petervanlee » Tue May 03, 2005 10:59 am

Classic van and Pickup Magazine are doing a big magazine in the next few months Based on the Transit from 1665 to 1980. I have been sorting it out for Ted the Editor sending loads of information and pictures to him from the website. He is going to put Transit.org and transitvanclub.co.uk websites in the magazine as a bit of a push for us both this could be good as the mag has a lot of readers.

After a bit of a play, found the owners club website Pete has set up here. Looks like he has registered transitvanclub.co.uk today, so I'm sure the move will take place soon.
