tinted windows

Hi, does anyone know if ford had different shades of green for there tinted windows. I have an import and the tint is definitely lighter than some I have seen (yes mine are definitely green).

My MK5's seem light but I guess this is down to what's inside and how the light is catching it all
Other times it looks fine
I didn't think they would have had more than one shade
My '96 van had a tinted front screen and looked much darker when I had the side ones "film tinted"

Which country
Any special features we don't get over here fitted

Thanks for that Andyg, my front screen is plain. Rest will probably darken down when I replace this. Not sure which country but has malaysia stamped all over. It is a mettalic gold colour and has front and rear aircon. Although a 1999 it has earlier dash 94-97, High level brakelight which looks as though it was factory fitted. Have had all the door/ panel trims off and no rust at all same goes for floor pan. Although nearside front wing and back wheel arch are full of filler. These are being replaced next week and having the whole van repainted (except roof) in origional colour (think its champagne gold) It has cables going into front doors although it does not have CL or lecky windows will check if these cables are for same and then fit them in the near future. Apart from that
havent found anything extra. Only had it 3 weeks so still exploring if I do find any other goodies will let you know

in the mk5 there is only green tint or plane ,green came standard with aircon!

Make sure you take some piccies even if you can't get them on straight away Champagne Gold sounds

Wires in the door prob. speakers Hope the others are there for you for easy conversion and yeah clear front screen will make the others look lighter
Just some useless info;
You can get top tint (sun band) tinted screen or you can get heated tinted screen.
But you can't have heated and top tint

ford may have done several shades of green..My ford cargo truck has the rear windows are a diffrent shade of brown tint to the side windows..
I know its a truck but its still a ford..forgot to add ..the rear windows are a diffrent shade as they came from a later truck

Hi All, just an update on the respray. I was hoping to have the van back last weekend but lots of rot (suprise suprise after all it is 6.5 years old) in the left hand side. So now needs wing + innerwing, inner + outersills, arches, new tailgate bottom, and both ends of rear crossmember were non existant. All cleverly disguised for MOT!!!. Hope to pick it up this weekend will post pictures then.

high andyg, just got the van back and really pleased. The guy has done s*"t loads of welding on the nearside New inner and outer wing, new inner and outer sill, new inner and outer step (under sliding door), new rear arch. He repaired both ends of rear crossmember and made a repair panel for tailgate. He also found a hole that I could get my fist through under front offside wheel arch. Full respray (exept roof, and all windows out except screen) and colour coded bumpers and mirrors. Total price £1200. The colour is Beach Gold a Euro colour apparently. but she does look good. Will get photos on at the weekend. Makes you wonder how it passed an MOT 2 months before I bought it??????
