Frails

Postby Nate » Sun May 28, 2006 9:33 am

I think this is the best category for this.

I bought a 52 plate 90 T280 about 2 weeks ago, and I am after some kind of frail to fit on the side of the van for carrying garage doors.

Does anyone know where I can buy one from, the last 'frail' I had on my Hi-cube was home made and did the job, but I want something that looks the part this time, as I could still make one for this van.

Many thanks

I bought one off Ebay , and what a cracker ...

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... RK:MEWN:IT

I know the chap wasn't lying about it being around £2500 new, as I enquired locally for one, and they came up with a price of £1200 + VAT

The only bad thing ..... I had to drive to Nottinghamshire from Essex  , 2 1/2 hours to get there, and 3 hours to get back .

Cheers for your help guys

Yep, bolted it while I was there, at 8'8 high and 11' long , I don't know of a vehicle (apart from a lorry) that it would have fit into.

It wasn't all that difficult to fit though (carried all my tools with me )........ May have to use it as a template for others  and start making some one-offs.

The one thing I haven't fitted is the ladder up the rear door, as I don't want to strain the hinges on the rear doors (and we all know how transit hinges go  ) . anyway, you can climb up the frail :D

Are the longer armed mirrors available, as it is a bit of a pain now to reverse !!!
